Sacramento CA, May 8, 2015 – The Local Health Plans of California (LHPC) are pleased to announce the hiring of a new Chief Executive Officer for the association. Brianna Lierman will become CEO of LHPC on May 18, 2015. LHPC represents all 16 of the public, non-profit local health plans in California serving predominantly low-income populations through the Medi-Cal program. Ms. Lierman comes to LHPC from California Health & Wellness Health Plan where she was Vice President of Government Affairs, and was responsible for county and State government affairs, advocacy with executive and legislative branch, providing legal counsel in health plan operations and new business initiatives, and serving as Compliance Officer for the Health Plan.

“We’re very excited to welcome Brianna to LHPC” said Bob Freeman, CEO of CenCal Health and current Chair of LHPC. “We’ve worked with Brianna over the past several years in her different capacities and we knew she would be an ideal choice to lead the association as we prepare for the coming changes in the health care landscape” Freeman concluded.

Ms. Lierman succeeds Jennifer Kent who is now Director of the California Department of Health Care Services.
