Overview
It is well established that good oral health is critical to overall health. A central tenet of managed care is to provide members with a full range of integrated health care services. Such integration is seen as vital to improving access to services and positively impacting health outcomes.
The Health Plan of San Mateo (HPSM) is the only Medi-Cal managed care plan that has fully integrated the Medi-Cal dental benefit via pilot program with goals of providing members with a robust network of providers, supporting the local dental provider community and improving coordination of the range of services needed by members of all ages.
Join us for this exploratory webinar to learn more about why and how HPSM integrated the dental benefit and lessons learned along the way. The webinar will examine the political and strategic landscape around the benefit and explore the operational impacts and considerations for plans who may be contemplating integration.
Who should attend:
Health plan staff interested in better understanding the strategic and operational considerations for integrating the dental benefit into Medi-Cal managed care, including administrative, operational, clinical, government affairs and other staff who would be involved in or impacted by dental benefit implementation.
