L.A. Care Plays a Major Role in the Los Angeles Business Journal Diversity, Inclusion + Equity Symposium & Awards

L.A. Care is proud to be a key sponsor of the Los Angeles Business Journal’s 2021 Diversity, Inclusion + Equity Symposium & Awards. The two-part virtual event starts with a series of panel discussions on March 17 and culminates with an awards ceremony on March 24, where L.A. Care is nominated for two awards.

The free panel discussions will feature companies and individuals who have shown a commitment to advancing diversity and inclusion in the workplace. James Kyle, MD, L.A. Care’s Medical Director for Quality, Diversity, Equity and Inclusion, will join three other panelists on a panel titled Creating a Culture of Diversity & Inclusion through Top Leadership.

Dr. Kyle believes a culture of diversity and inclusion must begin with top leadership in any organization. He will discuss how L.A. Care has begun evaluating its policies and operations to assess diversity and ensure equity. He will explain how all organizations need to hold themselves accountable and track progress as they begin to integrate equity into their operations.

The other speakers on Dr. Kyle’s panel are Ken Le, Principal of Risk Consulting and Los Angeles CDI Leader, Tom McCabe, Managing Director and U.S. CEO of DBS Bank, and Michael Ormonde, Region President of Wells Fargo Bank.

Other panel discussions include Master Class on Diversity Inclusion, & Equity and Mentorship: Growth, Inclusion, and Equity – Why it Matters.

The awards ceremony will honor diversity and inclusion champions in Los Angeles for their ongoing efforts to create an inclusive environment that enables diversity to thrive. L.A. Care was nominated in the categories of Business/Company of the Year and Best Diversity & Inclusion Team of the Year. In both categories, L.A. Care’s newly created Equity Council was instrumental in the nomination.
