Michael Schrader joined the Alliance as CEO in April 2023. Schrader previously served as the CEO of the Health Plan of San Joaquin and prior to that he served as CEO of CalOptima in Orange County. He brings well over two decades of experience in Medi-Cal, Medicare and the Program of All-inclusive Care for the Elderly (PACE). Michael currently serves on the boards of California Association of Health Plans (CAHP), Local Health Plans of California (LHPC), and Health Improvement Partnership of Santa Cruz County (HIP).

Schrader holds a Bachelor of Science in Aerospace Engineering from the University of Arizona and a Master of Business Administration from the University of California, Los Angeles.
